USG - SINGLE JOINT (SHOULDER / ELBOW / WRIST / HIP / KNEE / ANKLE) is a non-invasive imaging examination that uses high-frequency sound waves to assess a single joint and its surrounding soft tissue structures. The scan helps evaluate tendons, ligaments, muscles, bursae, joint spaces, cartilage, and fluid collections in the selected joint.
This ultrasound is commonly performed to investigate joint pain, swelling, stiffness, sports injuries, tendon tears, ligament injuries, arthritis, inflammation, or fluid accumulation. It can also help detect cysts, soft tissue masses, tendonitis, bursitis, and joint infections.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound provides real-time imaging and allows dynamic assessment of joint movement, making it useful for evaluating injuries during motion. It is safe, painless, and does not involve radiation exposure.
The scan may also assist doctors in guiding joint injections, aspirations, or other minimally invasive procedures when required.
