USG - OBG FOLLOWUP (CERVICAL LENGTH / AFI / FHR / BPP) is a specialized prenatal ultrasound examination used for ongoing monitoring of pregnancy health and fetal well-being. This scan is commonly recommended during the second or third trimester, especially in high-risk pregnancies or when closer fetal surveillance is required.
The examination includes assessment of:
- Cervical Length – Measures the length of the cervix to evaluate the risk of preterm labor or cervical insufficiency.
- AFI (Amniotic Fluid Index) – Assesses the amount of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby to detect low or excessive fluid levels.
- FHR (Fetal Heart Rate) – Evaluates the baby’s heartbeat and cardiac activity.
- BPP (Biophysical Profile) – Monitors fetal movements, breathing movements, muscle tone, heart activity, and amniotic fluid to assess overall fetal well-being.
This scan helps doctors monitor pregnancy progression, identify potential complications early, and determine whether additional treatment, monitoring, or delivery planning may be necessary.
This scan is performed to:
- Monitor fetal well-being and pregnancy progress
- Measure cervical length and assess preterm labor risk
- Evaluate amniotic fluid levels
- Assess fetal heart rate and activity
- Perform biophysical profile assessment
- Detect complications in high-risk pregnancies
- Support ongoing prenatal monitoring and management
