About this scan
USG - Breast Bilateral (Sonomammogram) is an imaging procedure that uses ultrasound waves to examine both breasts, helping to detect abnormalities and evaluate breast health.

USG - BREAST BILATERAL (SONOMAMMOGRAM) is a non-invasive imaging examination that uses high-frequency sound waves to assess both breasts and the surrounding soft tissues. The scan helps evaluate breast lumps, cysts, dense breast tissue, infections, abscesses, enlarged lymph nodes, and other breast-related abnormalities.

Unlike mammography, ultrasound does not use radiation and is especially useful in younger women or individuals with dense breast tissue. The examination can help differentiate between solid and fluid-filled lesions and may be used alongside mammography or clinical breast examination for more detailed assessment.

This scan is commonly recommended for breast pain, palpable lumps, nipple discharge, swelling, infection, or follow-up evaluation of previously detected breast abnormalities. It may also assist in guiding breast biopsy or aspiration procedures when required.

The procedure is safe, painless, radiation-free, and provides real-time imaging for accurate breast evaluation.

This scan is performed to:

  • Evaluate breast lumps or swelling
  • Detect cysts, solid masses, or infections
  • Assess breast pain or tenderness
  • Examine dense breast tissue
  • Investigate nipple discharge or breast abnormalities
  • Monitor previously identified breast lesions
  • Assist in image-guided breast procedures if required
