CT / USG – Guided Biopsy (1 Site) is a diagnostic procedure used to obtain a small tissue sample from a targeted area of the body for laboratory analysis. The procedure is performed under imaging guidance using either Computed Tomography (CT) or Ultrasound (USG), depending on the location and nature of the lesion.
Imaging guidance ensures precise needle placement into the abnormal tissue, such as a tumor, mass, or suspicious lesion, minimizing damage to surrounding structures and improving diagnostic accuracy.
Once the needle is positioned correctly, a small sample of tissue is collected and sent for pathological examination to determine the presence of infection, inflammation, or cancer.
This procedure is commonly used for evaluating lesions in organs such as the liver, lungs, kidneys, lymph nodes, or soft tissues. It is minimally invasive, typically performed under local anesthesia, and usually completed within a short duration.
