CT – HU Value (Hounsfield Unit Analysis) is a quantitative assessment performed using computed tomography (CT) to measure the density of tissues or lesions. The measurement is expressed in Hounsfield Units (HU), which helps differentiate between various types of tissues such as fat, fluid, soft tissue, and calcification.

This analysis is particularly useful in characterizing lesions and determining their nature. For example, it can help distinguish between benign and malignant masses, identify fat-containing lesions, assess calcifications, or evaluate organ composition.

HU value measurement is commonly used in evaluating adrenal lesions, kidney stones, liver lesions, lung nodules, and bone density. It enhances diagnostic accuracy by providing objective numerical data alongside visual imaging.

The procedure is non-invasive and performed as part of a CT scan, with no additional discomfort to the patient.
