About this test
The Semen Processing test prepares and concentrates sperm to improve quality for assisted reproductive procedures.

Semen Processing is a laboratory procedure used to prepare and enhance the quality of sperm for assisted reproductive techniques such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF).

During this process, the semen sample is treated to separate healthy, motile sperm from debris, dead sperm, and other unwanted components. Techniques such as washing, density gradient centrifugation, or swim-up methods are used to obtain a concentrated sample of high-quality sperm.

This procedure increases the chances of successful fertilization by selecting the most active and viable sperm.

The purpose of this test is to

  • To isolate healthy and motile sperm
  • To improve sperm quality for assisted reproduction
  • To remove debris and non-viable sperm
  • To support fertility treatments like IUI and IVF
  • To enhance chances of fertilization
