About this scan
MRI-Pelvis is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses powerful magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of the pelvis, helping diagnose and evaluate conditions affecting the reproductive organs, bladder, and surrounding structures.

MRI – Pelvis is an advanced diagnostic imaging procedure that provides highly detailed images of the pelvic region using magnetic fields and radio waves. It allows clear visualization of pelvic organs such as the bladder, rectum, and reproductive organs (uterus and ovaries in females, prostate and seminal vesicles in males), along with pelvic bones, muscles, blood vessels, and surrounding soft tissues.

This scan is widely used to diagnose a variety of conditions including tumors, cysts, infections, inflammation, congenital abnormalities, and trauma. It plays a crucial role in evaluating pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, infertility, and suspected malignancies. MRI is especially valuable for its superior soft tissue contrast, enabling precise detection and characterization of abnormalities.

MRI – Pelvis is also commonly used for cancer staging, assessing the extent of disease spread, and monitoring treatment response. In some cases, contrast material may be used to enhance image clarity and improve diagnostic accuracy. The procedure is safe, painless, and does not involve exposure to ionizing radiation, making it suitable for repeated use if needed.

This test is recommended for individuals:

  • Experiencing persistent pelvic pain
  • With abnormal bleeding or menstrual irregularities
  • Suspected of tumors or pelvic cancers
  • Facing infertility or reproductive health concerns
  • With infections or inflammation in the pelvic region
  • Requiring detailed evaluation of pelvic organs
