About this scan
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and mammogram are medical imaging techniques. MRI uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images, while mammogram is an X-ray specifically used to examine breast tissue for signs of abnormalities.

MRI – Mammogram, also known as Breast MRI, is an advanced imaging technique that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of breast tissue. Unlike traditional mammography, MRI provides highly sensitive visualization of soft tissues, making it especially useful in detecting early-stage breast cancer and evaluating complex cases.

This scan is commonly used for high-risk screening, further evaluation of abnormalities detected in mammography or ultrasound, and assessing the extent of known breast cancer. It is also useful in monitoring response to treatment, checking for recurrence, and evaluating breast implants.

In many cases, contrast material is used to enhance image clarity and improve detection of abnormal tissues. MRI – Mammogram offers superior detail and accuracy, particularly in dense breast tissue. The procedure is safe, painless, and does not involve radiation.

This test is recommended for individuals:

  • At high risk for breast cancer
  • With suspicious findings on mammography or ultrasound
  • Diagnosed with breast cancer for further evaluation
  • With dense breast tissue requiring detailed imaging
  • Undergoing follow-up after breast cancer treatment
  • With breast implants requiring assessment
