About this scan
MRI - Brain and Neck Angiography is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses magnetic resonance imaging to visualize blood vessels in the brain and neck, aiding in the diagnosis of vascular conditions.

MRI – Brain and Neck Angiography is an advanced imaging procedure that focuses on detailed evaluation of the arterial blood vessels supplying the brain and neck. It uses magnetic fields and radio waves to generate high-resolution images of arteries without the need for invasive procedures.

This scan is highly effective in detecting vascular conditions such as aneurysms, arterial narrowing (stenosis), blockages, dissections, and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). It also helps assess blood flow to the brain and identify causes of stroke or transient ischemic attacks (TIA).

MRI angiography of the brain and neck may be performed with or without contrast depending on clinical requirements. It provides comprehensive information about both intracranial and extracranial circulation, aiding in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

The procedure is safe, painless, and does not involve radiation, making it suitable for repeated imaging if needed.

This test is recommended for individuals:

  • Experiencing severe or recurrent headaches
  • With symptoms of stroke or TIA
  • Suspected of aneurysm or vascular abnormalities
  • With dizziness, weakness, or neurological symptoms
  • Having risk factors for vascular disease
  • Requiring detailed evaluation of cerebral circulation
